From Wulf Moon:
“Joshua Palmatier, publisher of Zombies Need Brains anthologies, has given me the okay to announce I’ve sold a story to their Game On! anthology. This is a SFWA listed pro market and my story “The Saltmarsh” will be published in it this fall.”
From Akis Linardos:
Akis is happy to report a streak of sales:
- 2 drabbles accepted at the Martian: “Our Home, the Quiet Darkness” and “Earworm in Your Syrup”
- A 3500 word short story, “There’s a Wolf in My Belly” accepted at Dread Machine.
- A 2000-word short story, “Three Times the Power, Four Times the Pain” accepted by Wordfire press for the anthology “A Bit of Luck” at Superstars Writing Seminars
“I wrote into the dark for all this stories, letting go of the outlines and following Dean Wesley Smith’s advice helped me so much with productivity and creativity. I think working with outlines was a good step for me to evolve to this stage though. Learn the boxes before coloring out of them in a sense.”
Our Program
In June, our guest is Rick Lewis.
Rick is a literary agent with Martin Literary Management. He represents authors of speculative fiction titles in the Adult and YA categories, including science fiction, fantasy, horror, and magical realism.
You can find more information about Rick at ForGoodBooks.com and about the agency at MartinLit.com.
Rick will explain the mysteries of getting an agent, working with an agent, and what exactly an agent does.
SciFidea Award – Dyson Spheres
We’ll take a moment and see how people are feeling about the Singapore based writing contest with ten $20,000 prizes. Deadline is August 31st, and you can submit entries to scifidea_contest@col.com. | https://contest.scifidea.org/

Giveaway This Month!
One lucky attendee chosen at random will receive a copy of Writers of the Future, Vol 39, just released in May. I’ve read all the stories and loved them. These works should be inspirational for new writers, and several of the stories are hopeful, DreamForge style tales. (I would have loved to have published “White Elephant” by David K. Henrickson.
In July
In July, we’re working bringing either Jane Lindskold or Bruce McAllister back to talk with our group.
