Dark Visions

Each Halloween, DreamForge presents “Dark Visions,” Tales for Halloween. We add one new strange tale, this year featuring Bruce McAllister’s “The Riddle” and provide links to haunting tales from previous DreamForge issues. We’ve got vampires, werewolves, zombies, ghosts, and visits to twilight realities. Each tale links to its original publication in DreamForge online and all are free online. Enjoy!

Each October

Sure, DreamForge usually shines a light on hope, on communities coming together, on people solving problems to make the world a better place. But once a year, as the nights grow longer, things take a darker turn. Even editor Scot Noel sets aside his usual optimism and unearths some of his older stories where maybe —just maybe— things don’t work out. Maybe the monster isn’t vanquished. Maybe the hero doesn’t win. Maybe, this time, the shadows swallow the light.
