Kat Heckenbach
Kat Heckenbach is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Tampa with a B.S. in Biology. She spent several years teaching, but never in a traditional classroom, and then homeschooled her son and daughter while writing and making art. Now that both kids have graduated, she spends her free time being entertained by her 80 lb. boxer mix. She is the author of YA fantasy series Toch Island Chronicles and urban fantasy Relent, as well as dozens of fantasy, science fiction, and horror short stories in magazines and anthologies. She paints, draws, and makes mixed media art with fantasy, sci-fi, and steampunk themes. Enter her world at www.katheckenbach.com.

Every dollar we receive through subscriptions, Patreon, Kickstarter, Kofi, and sales of our print and ebooks (through Amazon and our website) goes directly to supporting authors and artists. Our entire operation runs on volunteer efforts, ensuring that every contribution helps new and established authors from around the world tell their uplifting stories of hope.
If you’re an author, consider joining our Patreon at the DreamCaster level. This exclusive tier grants you access to monthly Zoom meetings featuring special guests and discussions designed to help you grow as a writer and navigate the business of writing. Can’t make a meeting? Members also get access to a library of recorded sessions.
Please consider supporting DreamForge Magazine.
DreamForge is a volunteer effort supported by Dreamers like you. Every small donation helps us to buy hopeful stories and help new authors learn how to bring hope into this crazy world.
Hope is not an illusion; it's a perspective backed by engagement with the world, whatever the condition of the world may be. Like the crew of the Enterprise, we don't expect everyone to share our values, only that we will engage them with ours, and in the course of doing so, possibly, just possibly, win a better future.
